Draft Sixth Power Plan Comment

I am writing to urge the council to include a clear path for reducing the regions dependency on fossil fuels and in particular coal power generation as a base-load component. We will continue to have a need for base load power, but would be far better served by a strategy that takes into account true external costs of carbon emission. A strategy that guided us towards non-coal base load generation sources like natural gas, solar thermal, geo-thermal, bio-mass and smart grid management technologies would place the councils plan in better alignment with local and regional governmental goals.
