Montana stands at an important juncture in the arena of energy development. She can bow under to pressure from the coal industry to continue harvesting this dirty, CO2 emitting mineral "because it is cheap and plentiful", or she can become a national leader in the development of clean, renewable energy sources such as wind, water, solar and biomass. Burning fossil fuels is not sustainable and it directly contributes to climate change. It is time to move ahead and not backwards.
