Comment from Jatul, Chris
I'm impressed with the idea that we can save 58% on our need for more energy through efficiency. I support the goal as well as going with wind and natural gas instead of coal. Why is there no mention of solar? I have been to presentations by UW researchers that suggest that solar is the best alternative. Surely we should be able to tap into this resource east of the Cascade mountains.
My other comment is on the cost of electricity. I would like to see rewards for those who conserve and for big users a higher price. It is obvious that people conserve more when they have to pay for it as we have seen with gas prices and the move to more fuel efficient cars. At the same time I would like to see the extra money raised from large consumers used to assist low income people who need help paying their utility bills.
Thanks for soliciting the public's opinion on this vital issue.
