Thank you for this opportunity to comment. While the current draft plan is an encouraging start toward clean energy, sadly it falls far short. The time has long passed for half-measures and token resolutions. While I appreciate the complexities of the situation and the immense power wielded by the Coal industry, it’s critical for the Council to approve a final plan that quickly reduces current carbon emissions, weans us from filthy coal, provides the region with a path to meet growing power needs via clean energy, brings endangered salmon and steelhead back from the brink of extinction, and starts electrifying transportation. The current status quo has failed, and falls embarrassingly far behind that of other industrialized nations. Thank you.
