I am pleased that you all are looking to maximize efficiency standards and how to implement the use of new, energy efficient equipment. However, stabilizing current global warming emmissions is not enough. We must start reducing them now. Coal, even so called clean coal, can not longer be an option. Please include in your plan a timetable to phase out coal powered plants and in to implement natural gas plants, as well as more renewable and biofuel powered plants, that will decrease emissions. Washington also uses some oil powered plants, and that too needs to be phased out to cut our reliance on foreign oil and decrease pollution. A combination of new, cleaner technology to create electricity and increasing efficiency of appliances and lighting can cut our energy growth and pollution.
