Comment from Forsyth, Carolyn

While the draft plan does a good job at emphasizing conservation and renewables, it stops short of fully realizing Oregon's potential to drastically lower its greenhouse gas emissions by shutting down the Boardman plant. I'm an architect, and deeply involved in getting energy efficient buildings built. The design and construction industry is ready to help with Oregon's emissions reduction goals by drastically reducing building energy demand. This is not an extreme proposition. In fact, continuing operation of the Boardman power plant for 20 more years is the exreme proposition, and one that we really cannot afford to live with.
