Comment from Ross, Fred

I would like you to reconsider how the council is approaching coal burning as a source of energy. Everyone acknowledges that we cannot get to our goals in the next 20 - 30 years while still burning coal. PGE is planning on spending $500 million on the Boardman Plant in the next 20 - 30 years. That is money that can be spent building out our renewable energy capacity. We have leaders in city government (Sam Adams has made his and the city's plan for no coal burning clear) and the state government calling for a revisiting of the coal burning generation of energy. The Power Plan is very progressive and fits our region well on so many fronts. Please bring into alignment the region's desire to release ourselves from a pollution creating source of energy and add to the plan that we no longer want to pursue any energy from coal. Thanks, Fred Ross
