Draft Sixth Power Plan Comment

We can't afford to continue our dependence on coal as an energy resource. It produces 23 percent of the region’s electricity but spews out 87 percent of the region’s pollution. The Northwest Power and Conservation Council’s energy plan is good but it could be great. It can build on its already-solid foundation of efficiency and clean energy by adding a way to phase out coal use or at least decrease it to sustainable amounts. I heartily appreciate you're efforts on energy efficiency and focus on renewable resources, but I would also like to see those efforts fortified with a reduction in greenhouse emissions. sincerely, Edith Wyrick
